Our Beliefs

Let's start with how one comes to a true knowledge of and relationship with, Jesus Christ.  It begins with a simple understanding of the gospel 1 that Jesus is God, 2 who became a Man 3 in order to save mankind from everlasting separation from God 4 that resulted from man's sin. 5 Jesus satisfied the perfect justice of God 6 by His once-and-for-all payment for the sins of humanity 7 through His death on the Cross. 8 His resurrection from the dead 9 assures the salvation of all those who acknowledge before God their sin 10 and their hopelessness in saving themselves, 11 and who by grace through faith12 accept Christ's sacrifice on their behalf 13 and his free gift of eternal life. 14 This is how one is reconciled to God 15 and born again spiritually. 16 This is how one's relationship with the biblical Jesus Christ 17 begins.

We believe that "...all scripture is given by inspiration of God".
By Scripture we mean all the 39 books of the Old Testament and 27 books of the New Testament together form God's complete and revealed Word to us, known as The Bible. These Holy Scriptures are verbally inspired of God and inerrant in the original writing.

We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons: the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit; these three are one God, all three the same in substance essence [Christ was flesh and is now in a "glorified body", but our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.], God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth, equal in power and glory.

We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned, and thereby incurred not only physical death but also that spiritual death which is separation from God. As a result, all human beings are born with a sinful nature and (in the case of those who reach moral responsibility) are sinners in thought word and deed. And, with such a nature, they are incapable of producing anything acceptable to God.

We believe that the only way of deliverance from this state of sin and condemnation is through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary and is true God and true man. He freely offered Himself as a substitute to suffer and die on behalf of all men. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into heaven, and in His present life there for us as High Priest and Advocate.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is received by faith alone and that the moment we trust in Him as our Savior and Lord, we are born again of the Holy Spirit, and therefore become children of God and pass out of death into everlasting life. We are also justified before God, having our sins forgiven and the righteousness of God Christ credited to our account.

We believe that the Lord commanded His Church to maintain two ordinances, namely baptism (practiced here by immersion) as a confession profession of faith, and regular remembrance of the Savior through the Lord's Supper.

We believe that nothing can separate true believers from the love of God. They will be "kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation", (Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade - kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.) The sure and final proof that they are true believers consists in the continuance of their attachment and obedience to Christ until the end of their earthly life.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person. At the moment of salvation, He permanently indwells and places [?] into the body of Christ each believer. He is ever present to testify of Christ, seeking to occupy us with Him, and not with ourselves or with our experiences.

We believe that it is incumbent on every believer to walk in conformity to the Word of God and keep himself unspotted from the world. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

We believe in the (a) imminent, (b) personal, (c) bodily, (d) pre-tribulation and (e) pre-millennial return of our Lord Jesus Christ to establish a literal 1,000 year reign on the Earth.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, at their appointed time, some to eternal life, and others to judgment and an eternal death in hell. (That includes the doctrine of eternal Hell.)

Article III- Doctrinal Statement

12. Marriage is a picture of Christ and his bride, the church (Eph 5:22-33). We believe from Scripture that marriage is ordained by God and therefore is subject to His definition: the life-long union of one man and one woman as their gender was determined at birth (Gen 1:27, 2:24).
